The double-slit experiment demonstrates the wave-particle duality of light and matter. When light or particles like electrons are sent through two narrow slits, they create an interference pattern on a screen behind the slits, even when fired one particle at a time. This pattern is characteristic of waves, suggesting that even particles exhibit wave-like behavior. This challenges the classical understanding of particles as localized objects and reveals the fundamental quantum nature of reality.
